Abstract

This study examines the implementation of academic service innovations in improving educational quality and transforming academic governance at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. A mixed-methods approach was employed by integrating quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques. Quantitative data were obtained from the 2024 Academic Service Satisfaction Survey, while qualitative data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), field observations, and analyses of academic policy documents. The findings reveal that the university has implemented several innovations, including the refinement of diploma and national certificate issuance procedures, the development of the Academic Information System (AIS), the integration of academic services with the Higher Education Database (PDDIKTI), the digitalization of graduate data verification processes, and the expansion of electronic-based academic services. These innovations have enhanced service efficiency, streamlined administrative procedures, improved the accuracy of academic records, and strengthened user satisfaction. Survey results indicate an overall satisfaction score of 4.39 on a five-point scale, reflecting a very high level of satisfaction with academic services. The study confirms that information technology-driven administrative innovation plays a crucial role in improving the quality of academic services and supporting adaptive governance in higher education institutions. Furthermore, the findings suggest that digital transformation serves as a strategic mechanism for enhancing institutional performance and ensuring responsiveness to evolving regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
