This article advances an epistemological critique of the green economy paradigm that has long dominated global sustainability discourse, while proposing a conceptual reconstruction toward what the author terms prophetic economy—an economic model grounded in prophetic exemplarity and the higher objectives of Islamic law (maqashid al-syariah). Unlike green economy approaches that tend to reduce sustainability to ecological and market-efficiency dimensions, prophetic economy positions the equilibrium among the preservation of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and wealth as a more comprehensive normative foundation. This study employs a qualitative-exploratory method combined with Fuzzy Delphi and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) techniques to formulate and validate the construction of an Islamic Economic Sustainability Index (IKEI) through multi-round consultation with Islamic economics experts, sharia finance practitioners, and maqashid scholars. The findings indicate that IKEI comprises five principal dimensions corresponding to the five maqashid, operationalized into twenty-eight derivative indicators that have undergone content validity testing and inter-rater reliability assessment with adequate Kendall's coefficient of concordance. Comparison between IKEI and conventional green economy indices reveals that the maqashid-based approach captures spiritual-ethical dimensions and intergenerational justice absent from conventional indices, while maintaining equivalent methodological rigor. This article contributes to contemporary Islamic economics literature by offering a measurement framework applicable at both macro-policy and sharia financial institution performance evaluation levels, and opens further discussion on operationalizing prophetic values within quantitative economic metrics.
