PERAN TA’ARUF SEBAGAI STRATEGI MEMBANGUN KELUARGA SAKINAH TINJAUAN HUKUM ISLAM DI KOMUNITAS LDII PC PONDOK AREN

Abstract

The rise of dating practices among young Muslims with negative impacts such as promiscuity, high divorce rates, and fragile household foundations, prompted this study to examine Islamic alternatives. This study aims to describe the implementation and analyze the role of ta'aruf as a strategy for the development of the sakinah family, as well as evaluate its conformity with Islamic legal principles, focusing on the LDII PC Pondok Aren Community. Using a descriptive-analytical qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the practice of ta'aruf at LDII Pondok Aren is carried out in a structured manner, including the submission of intentions, candidate selection, official meetings, mentoring, istikharah, khitbah, and marriage contracts, serving as an effective initial filter in harmonizing the faith, vision of life, and morals of prospective spouses, so as to minimize the potential for post-marriage conflicts. Therefore, ta'aruf in the context of LDII PC Pondok Aren is not only an internal tradition, but an effective and legitimate strategy according to sharia to realize the family of sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah.
